As part of our DRC Excellence Week celebration, we had the privilege of continuing our spotlight series with another remarkable voice from the Congolese diaspora: Pastor Sylvain Kalombo — a respected community leader, theologian, and author of two thought-provoking books that speak to both the life of faith and the times we live in.
In this inspiring interview, Pastor Kalombo shares his journey as a servant of God, professor, businessman, and writer. He discusses the powerful testimonies and biblical insights that shaped his first book La Foi Qui Déplace les Montagnes, as well as the prophetic urgency behind his second title Configuration Géopolitique du Monde Actuel et Imminence du Retour de Christ.
🎥 Watch the full interview below to hear his story, his message to believers, and his encouragement to future authors.
Why These Books Matter
Pastor Kalombo’s first book, La Foi Qui Déplace les Montagnes, is a deeply personal exploration of what it means to walk by faith — especially in the face of impossible challenges. Drawing from real-life experiences in the DRC and the United States, he shares how even the smallest seed of faith, when acted upon, can move the greatest of obstacles. His testimony reminds us that God hasn’t changed — and He still responds to those who dare to believe.
His second book, Configuration Géopolitique du Monde Actuel et Imminence du Retour de Christ, is an urgent look at world affairs through the lens of biblical prophecy. As a professor of eschatology, Pastor Kalombo offers a compelling case that many of the events happening today — from the rebirth of Israel to global digital systems — align with Scripture and point to the imminent return of Jesus Christ. His message is clear: it’s time to wake up and be ready.
From Congo to the Diaspora — A Story of Faith and Impact
Born and raised in the DRC, Pastor Kalombo has over 30 years of ministry experience. He is now based in the Washington, DC area, where he pastors Les Églises Roi, teaches theology, manages regional operations for a major company, and continues to write. His Congolese roots are present in everything he does — and especially in the faith journey described in his books.
In our conversation, he also offered wisdom to aspiring writers in the diaspora:
"Each of your sermons is a book. Don’t let your ideas die with you. Make time. Write. Share your story."
His challenge to fellow leaders and believers: start writing now.
